Holly Mackinven, Paradise Tree, 2010

 

Holly Mackinven was born in 1976 in Auckland, New Zealand, where she currently lives and works. Since 2008 she has exhibited regularly at Sanderson Contemporary Art Gallery in Parnell, Auckland. Prior to this she exhibited periodically in galleries in both New Zealand and Australia. In 2007 her solo show, The Life of Objects, was held at Platform01 in Hamilton. Holly was a finalist in the 2008 Wallace Art Awards; the 2006 Wallace Art Awards; the 2005 Waikato National Contemporary Art Award and, in 2006, her sculptural work Garden was added to the James Wallace permanent collection. She studied fine arts at ASA School of Art in 1995 before going on to graduate with a B.A. in Art History and Film Studies from The University of Auckland. She completed her Master of Fine Arts (Hons) at Elam School of Fine Arts, The University of Auckland in 2005. She also holds a Diploma in Digital Film from The Southern Institute of Technology, where she currently tutors part time. For inquiries about the work, please feel free to contact the artist.
